Bike Fit

Postby Petrocelli » Fri Nov 20, 2009 10:42 am

Hi all

I've just had a bike fit. Was talking to a guy about my sciatic pain and he is an owner of a bike shop and has been building bikes for many years. Without even looking at me on my bike he told me that my bike fit was all wrong.

I went to see him yesterday and my seat has been lowered by 4cm, some other adjustments have been made so I'm going to give it a go to see if there is any reocurrence (sorry can't spell) of the pain.

If anyone is interested let me know and I can you pass on details - he is Ironbridge though. I guess the proof will be in the pudding if the pain goes away then he's done a good job.

A frame builder, Ironbridge . . this wouldn't be Peter Bird would it?

I highly recommend a bike-fitting session to any cyclist, although I have to say 4cm is a heck of a big drop in one go, so take care !! (or ease yourself into it over a few weeks/months by moving your saddle down about 1.5cm at a time)
